Last year’s Cape Town Fashion Week was intended to be the official Spring/Summer platform for the South African fashion industry (which currently holds close to seven fashion weeks per year). African Fashion International produced the event with the collaboration and sponsorship of several stakeholders including; Woolworths, Foschini, L’Oreal, 36 Boutiques, South African Broadcasting Channel, Nikon, and Escape Artist was heavily invested in the planning and logistics as a consultant to the Cape Town Fashion Council.
21 designers stretched over three days (August 12-14, 2010), and attracted close to 10,000 to the Cape Town Convention Center. The branding for this fashion week consisted of rainbow colors with the tag line; “Refresh, Revive, Renew”.
